Ayhay Christian School provides Christ-centered, child-centered, and English-medium education, guided by Montessori principles, for children ages 3 to 15 in Madagascar.

Preschool Guide

Mission of the Role

The Preschool Guide helps young children grow in a safe, caring, joyful, and child-centered environment. The role supports children’s early development through routines, practical life activities, language exposure, social development, creativity, and guided learning experiences.

The Children’s House Teacher plays an important role in helping children feel loved, secure, independent, and ready to grow within Ayhay’s Christian and Montessori-inspired environment.

  • Care for and guide young children with patience, warmth, and respect

  • Prepare and lead age-appropriate learning activities

  • Support children’s independence, routines, and social development

The Lower Elementary Guide supports children in a mixed-level learning environment where students may have different abilities, rhythms, and learning needs. The role helps children build strong academic foundations while developing independence, responsibility, curiosity, and confidence.

This teacher contributes to a classroom culture where children are guided with structure, kindness, and meaningful learning experiences.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead lessons for children at different learning levels

  • Support literacy, numeracy, culture, and general learning activities

  • Adapt activities according to children’s needs and progress

  • Maintain classroom order, routines, and learning materials

  • Encourage independence, responsibility, and collaboration among children

The Lower Elementary Culture & Science Teacher helps children discover the world with wonder, curiosity, and purpose. The role introduces children to cultural, social, geographical, historical, and introductory science topics in a way that is meaningful, concrete, and connected to real life.

This position supports Ayhay’s goal of helping children understand God’s creation, their community, and the wider world with respect and curiosity.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach cultural, social, and introductory science topics to Lower Elementary students

  • Prepare simple, engaging, and age-appropriate lessons

  • Use stories, hands-on activities, visuals, discussions, and projects

  • Help children develop curiosity, observation, and questioning skills

  • Support vocabulary development and English communication

  • Connect lessons to real life, nature, community, and values

  • Maintain organized learning materials and classroom routines

  • Observe student participation and progress

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and the academic team

The Biology and Geology Teacher helps older students understand life, the earth, nature, and the environment through clear, engaging, and meaningful science learning. The role supports students in developing scientific curiosity, observation skills, responsibility toward creation, and respect for life.

This teacher contributes to Ayhay’s vision of preparing students who can think critically, care for the environment, and understand the world around them with faith and intelligence.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Biology and Geology to Upper Elementary and Erdkinder students

  • Prepare structured lessons, activities, discussions, and projects

  • Help students understand scientific concepts clearly

  • Encourage observation, investigation, questioning, and critical thinking

  • Use age-appropriate experiments, research tasks, and presentations when possible

  • Support students’ academic vocabulary and English communication in science

  • Assess student understanding through activities, tasks, and class participation

  • Maintain a safe and organized learning environment

  • Collaborate with the academic team on curriculum planning and student follow-up

The Physical Science Teacher helps students understand Physics and Chemistry through clear explanations, practical examples, observation, and inquiry. The role supports students in developing logical thinking, problem-solving skills, scientific curiosity, and confidence in understanding how the physical world works.

This teacher helps Ayhay students see science not only as a subject, but as a way to explore order, design, and discovery in God’s creation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Physics and Chemistry to Upper Elementary and Erdkinder students

  • Prepare clear, structured, and age-appropriate lessons

  • Use demonstrations, simple experiments, projects, and real-life examples when possible

  • Help students develop scientific vocabulary and reasoning skills

  • Encourage questioning, observation, analysis, and problem solving

The Music Teacher helps students develop musical appreciation, creativity, discipline, confidence, and joy. The role supports students in discovering music as a form of expression, worship, beauty, teamwork, and cultural appreciation.

The Music Teacher contributes to a school life where children can grow not only academically, but also artistically, emotionally, and spiritually.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and lead music lessons for Upper Elementary and Erdkinder students

  • Teach basic musical skills, rhythm, singing, instruments, or music appreciation

  • Help students develop confidence and creativity through music

  • Support school worship, performances, events, or presentations when needed

  • Encourage discipline, listening, cooperation, and respect during music activities

  • Adapt activities to students’ age and ability level

  • Maintain instruments and music materials responsibly

  • Collaborate with the school team for special programs and events

  • Encourage students to enjoy and value music positively

The Art Teacher helps children express creativity, develop fine motor skills, appreciate beauty, and grow in confidence through artistic activities. The role supports children’s imagination, concentration, patience, and ability to communicate ideas visually.

The Art Teacher contributes to Ayhay’s child-centered environment by helping children explore creativity in a joyful and meaningful way.

Logistics Coordinator

Type: Full-time

 

Mission of the Role

The Logistics Coordinator supports the smooth daily functioning of the school by helping manage materials, supplies, stock, facilities needs, errands, and operational follow-up. This role helps create an organized and reliable environment where teachers, staff, and students can work well.

The Logistics Coordinator contributes quietly but importantly to Ayhay’s quality, safety, and professionalism.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor school materials, supplies, and stock

  • Support purchasing, errands, and delivery follow-up when needed

  • Help prepare materials for school activities, events, and classrooms

  • Keep records of stock movement and resource use

  • Report facility, maintenance, or material needs to the appropriate person

  • Support classroom and office teams with practical logistical needs

  • Help maintain order, cleanliness, and readiness of school spaces

  • Work under pressure during busy school periods and events

Media Coordinator

Type: Part-time

The Media Coordinator supports Ayhay’s communication, visibility, and storytelling by creating quality visual and digital content that reflects the school’s identity, values, and activities. The role helps share Ayhay’s mission with parents, the school community, and the wider public in a professional and meaningful way.

The Media Coordinator contributes to Ayhay’s image by communicating with creativity, excellence, and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create visual content for school communication and social media

  • Support photo and video documentation of school life and events

  • Design simple communication materials using tools such as Canva

  • Edit short videos or reels using tools such as CapCut

  • Help organize media files, photos, videos, and digital resources

  • Support the school’s communication calendar and content planning

  • Ensure that published content respects Ayhay’s identity and values

  • Work with leadership and the communication team before publishing sensitive content

  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for children’s image rights

  • Support school events through media coverage when needed

 

Profile

  • Comfortable with digital tools such as Canva, video editing (capcut, wondershare etc), social media, and office tools

  • Creative and innovative mindset

  • Photography skills are a plus

  • Responsible and organized
